Growing up, I have seen how my parents had to make ends meet. We weren't from a poor family, nor were we from a rich family either. But my parents defined being rich in terms of having a roof over our heads, food on our table and definitely family who love us.
Growing up, I have heard countless times of the stories of the days when my parents were growing up as kids. My mum had to farm and help her mum run errands at the market and my dad had do bring herds of cows to graze and plant paddy. Life was tough for them but they managed well. Education was never neglected and they both came out to be my greatest role models in life.
I was 7 years old when my parents gave me "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" for my birthday and I was 9 years old when they gave me the famous "Rich Dad Poor Dad" book. So you see, I had the best of both worlds all along. Imagination and Reality. At a young age I was instilled with the thoughts of becoming a leader, a writer and a financially independent individual.
I started travelling around the world at a very young age. It was when my Dad was pursuing his PhD in Geology that we were living in the UK as a family for 4 years. Thinking about it now, I was lucky and fortunate enough to have such loving parents who managed their opportunities well and gave me and my brother the best life had to offer.
I became a child with a creative mindset I guess. I was never set out for the technical stuff but for the most creative and intrinsic details of life. I became a wreck and a warrior at some points of my life but today, I regard myself as the lucky one.
The lucky one because of my Mum and Dad who have never failed to show me that failing is always the first step to learning. The lucky one because I think I have the most amazing parents on earth and I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world.
Being the lucky one I hope to one day achieve greatness and make them proud of me. Having them beside me is the greatest blessing I can ever have.
I love you Mum & Dad 🙂
