A Millionaire’s Mindset

I had this idea to write about this particular topic for some time now and I'm glad today it can finally be put out on paper.

In the past few months I have seen friends complete their final year bachelor's degree, some have started working and some are in the midst of pursuing their internship.

However, what most young graduates or should I put it this way, potential employees have in common, is the wrong mindset.

Let me enlighten you.

Call it dreams, we all have them. To work for a notable company, earn and live sustainably

Many of us know what we want, but not many know the little things we need to do, to path our way to fulfil them

Being a really smart student does not always mean you are entitled to a secure high-end job, nor does being a rich kid from a wealthy family guarantee you a place at your dad's company. Lastly, being underprivileged or incapable does not mean you cannot achieve greatness.

Its all about your mindset. Read that last sentence again.

Up until now, you might probably think "This girl probably reads a lot of motivational books". Well yes I do but reading is one thing and understanding, is another.

The problem with us is we keep complaining. We complain about every single thing! Think about it.

But, don't take this the other way. We all complain! Even myself.

A wrong mindset starts by choice.

Here are a few examples:

1) When you choose to portray how ungrateful you are and pour it out on social media platforms, especially on LinkedIn! (If you are on LinkedIn and you do this, then you need a serious reality check)

2) When you regret taking up a particular coursewhen others don't even have the opportunity for an education

3) When you complain about how boring and toughyour job is when others are jobless

4) When you make up excuses and deny yourself opportunities

5) When you forget that 'Rome was never built in a day'

Think about it. All these scenarios lead back to you.

When you speak to a group of people, its all you. People remember what you say when you least expect it.

Your reputation is the most profound thing you should nourish and grow

Instead of complaining and what not, why not conserve your energy and channel it positively to shape your future?

All you need is an idea, no matter right or wrong, big or small.

But first. A right mindset.

You Might Not Achieve It Now, But Eventually

It's been a long week with report submissions and prepping for my final internship evaluation and the worst part is i miss my blog dearly. I miss writing something close to heart since I have been balled up in technical writing for the past few days and I'm super glad its going to be over soon. I was thinking on what to write as my next blog post and I had the best idea! This!

Yes! You might not achieve it now, but eventually, you will. Don't we all put in effort for the things we want most? Some of us really try hard to achieve a lot of things in a short span of time. Me on the other hand as well as some of you might agree, that we have so much yet to accomplish in this world but there is so little time. Makes me sad sometimes. But it makes me even more determined.

They always say hard work will always pay off. If not now, maybe sooner. Sooner than we think? But how soon is soon? I don't know. But I do know that somehow the law of the universe helps us. Us, as in those who constantly do the right things and put in the right amount of effort at the right time. Its all about timing anyhow, right? Definitely timing and a lot of determination as well as discipline. Wow, I am talking as if I have achieved a lot already. Nahh, just words of advice that I felt I needed at some point of my life too and here I am to share it with those of you who need it.

Its painful to see those who have worked so hard but have not gotten what they want yet. But then again, how do you measure hard work? Its different for each person and we all have our own definitive terms of what it means to achieve something in life. One thing for sure, although many may occasioanlly think life is unfair at times, life gives us what we deserve. Maybe being a person who is always hard working and always determined is somehow weighing a toll on you, not to mention draining your energy, and slowly making you feel demotivated? I think we have all been there and gone through that too. But somehow we find silver linings in the obstacles we go through. Don't we?

So I guess its safe to say that, hard work = pain = success. Sometimes we have to make big decisions and sacrifices in our lives to achieve the things we want most. We all know who or where we want to be ten years down the road. Or maybe ten years is too way down the road, heck! even I don't know the answer to that yet. But lets say five years? Easier right? Yes, you could go with the flow and when someone comes up to you and asks you, "Hey! Where do you see yourself in five years?", and you'll be like, "Yeah, I'm just gonna go with the flow man". A totally normal reaction and I even I say that too. But deep down, you know where you will be, who you are at that point of time and who will be there supporting.

So whatever it is, your hopes, goals and dreams, they are going to take time. But never take time for granted. Work on it, even if its the little things. Continue to strive and always be keen to seek valuable information that will help you shape your dreams into reality.

I think this is my longest article to date. But hey! words of advice always come in handy don't they? Tell me what you think in the comments below!

Much love,

The Two Types Of People In This World

When I was a little girl, my mother told me that there are two types of people in this world. Good and evil. Nothing else.

I decided to be good. Well, duh.

When I was a teenager, my girlfriends told me that there existed two types of people in this world. Good looking ones and the not so good looking ones.

It was then I realised how much the world cared so much about looks. Looks can be deceiving too. They are most of the time.

When I was about 18 I came across a group of people who valued achievers and neglected failures. It was weird and it felt wrong. I knew for a fact, the key to achieving is to fail. I never met those group of people again.

When I was 19 I came across people who complained a lot about life. They seemed sad and miserable in a way and it as draining my energy too. I then came up with my definition of the two types of people in the world. The Miserables and The Anti-Miserables.

At the age of 20 I realised how much what my mother said was true. The world is comprised of such entities that at times the bad outweighs the good. I decided to brush it off, I decided to just live. Live for myself.

When I was 21 I came across a young boy who dreamt of change in the world we lived in. He was determined to seek inspiration by the people who have made change, but he didn't realise he inspired me the most.

He told me the two types of people in this world are the ones who care enough to just talk about it, and the ones who care enough to actually do something about it.
